About REZIL

REZIL originated from a remedy used by natives in the rain forests of Venezuela.  Oil field workers learned of the foul smelling black oily poultice that relieved muscular aches and pains. The natives prepared the concoction from powdered bark from several trees mixed with raw petroleum found in small pools in the region.  Samples were collected and brought to the United States for analysis.

Research chemists and clinicians set to work studying the mixture.  They soon found that the observed pain relief was due primarily to the petroleum, not the bark.  This observation was confirmed by anecdotal reports of similar pain relief from petroleum producing regions of eastern Europe.  The task now became the isolation of the desired component from the complex petroleum mixture.  Researchers discovered that only a tiny fraction of raw petroleum contained the material of interest.  The resulting highly purified liquid bore little resemblance to the original product obtained from the rain forest.  The slightly oily liquid was clear, colorless and odorless.

Testing began to formulate the final product.  Several variations were evaluated.  The final formulation consisted of a mixture of isoparaffins (the highly refined petroleum fraction) and mineral and silicone oils to adjust the viscosity and volatility.  A small quantity of capsaicin, a very effective topical analgesic, was added to the mixture.  A US patent was issued for this novel product in 1999.  Work still continues to investigate the unique properties of isoparaffins.  Today, the isoparaffin fraction is further purified to yield isohexadecane, which is the base of the new REZIL.

REZIL was chosen as the product name in reference to the new found resilience reported by users.  A clinical study at a well known chiropractic clinic confirmed REZIL's effectiveness in relieving muscle and joint pain associated with arthritis and similar conditions.  Highly specialized purification equipment is now being utilized to purify the isoparaffins in quantity at reasonable cost.  After many years work REZIL is now available for consumers.

The REZIL roll-on dispenser is easy to use and the 3 oz. size is allowed in your carry-on bag. A convenient 1/4 oz. pocket, purse or travel size roll-on is also available.  We expect to offer REZIL in a lotion dispenser and a cream in a jar soon.
